Midwest Mayhem Pro Fight

Logan Kangas beat Daulton Heineman taking all 3 rounds and accumulating a total 22 VP to none for a truly dominating performance. Michael Rainwater Taylor stopped Michael Taylor Rainwater in one round earning 9 VP against 0VP in the process. Michael Johnson defeated Brandon Riggle with 18 victory points to none over a 2 round bout. Kelly Freeman continued the trend of winners taking all the points with a 3 round win over  Alex Kerwin scoring 22 VP in total. Logan Ballanger beat Yanni Wang in two rounds 10-1 in the only non shut out fight of the night. Unfortunately Yanni suffered a bad knee injury in that fight. We’re wishing him a speedy recovery. Iron Challenge 3

The Iron Wolves DK, one of the stand out clubs from BLWC, hosted a men’s tournament this weekend. They came away with Gold. Silver went to Norska, a Finnish club, and Bronze to the Danish Lost Boys. While unlikely, my head cannon for them is that they and the American Lost Boyz are sister clubs and we’re going to see them unite for an epic 10/12’s team. I did not see who the Most Valuable fighter went too. Video is available on facebook.

Unknown Canadian Tournament? KnightFall

The boys in Calgary hosted a tournament as well. I didn’t catch the name and only have men’s melee results. Not sure if women fought or if there were singles fights. Dallas Warlords made the trip up and took gold with some support from Daniel Krug and Johnny Porter, making it a Semi-Dominus team. The team formerly known as Skalligrams who’s name I can’t remember at the moment North Blood took silver and bronze went to The Silver Gryphons. Video was PPV, but I’m hoping it will pop up somewhere for us to view sometime. ***EDIT*** Some footage has surface. Vid 1 and vid 2

Torneo Tavola Rotonda a Ferrara

While this event happened two weeks ago the results have just been published to the Buhurt International webpage so I’m including it here. Taurus Medieval Fight Club took gold. Italian Bastards took silver and Kynaz UK grabbed Bronze. I see no results from duels which I know they had and also none for womens melee which I don’t know if they had or not. The most valuable fighter was Simone Bernardeschi.

Worlds End Buhurt Bash

Kynaz US hosted their annual fight and hang out event last weekend. I don’t have many details beyond “it was fun”. So that’s good!

Aroostook Invitational Knight Fights

The Third of Four in the Aroostook Invitational Knight Fights was held on Sunday. Nearly 100 fans braved the foul weather, 10 fights. Sean Kennicott was the Men’s Champion. Monika Ge-No was the women’s Champion. Evan Meshanic made his return to the ACW. Aidan Diehl Robert Patch, Justin Luk John Rockhill and Michael Anthony making their Armored Combat debut.

The event runner and ACW would like to thank Double Tapp Entertainment for the music as well as the judges, all the support people, 5th Company and thier staff. They hope to see everyone in August!

The Medieval Armored Combat Ireland group is hosting thier annual Claregalway Castle Shield Tournament on September 2-3rd. More on this next week.

NEWS

It was either a slow week for Buhurt news or I just missed things. Up to you which truth to believe.

• The Kiccass event has been postponed due to issues with the venue and the overall event organizer. It has been rescheduled till November. Gary Houle has done what he can to salvage and there should be fighting July 15th weekend instead. 
• The Vermont Cheese cup briefly announced it was dropping melee but now it’s back on the menu. The list will be non standard though described as “barnyard” style. 
• AMCF voting for Board Of Directors is still open. Get your votes in as it closes soon.
• Carolina Carnage has decided on 12’s for the third day after the 5s finals instead of 30’s or objective scenarios based on feedback from the captains. It was unclear to me whether that was mens and womens or just mens. They are also putting out an open call for staff support. Dates for duels and profight registrations have been announced along with a tentative schedule. Duels start june 30th, outrance sept 15. There are limited slots for both rules on who gets priority for them so check out the Carolina Carnage facebook event for details. Tentative Carnage schedule  Thursday Feb 1st build setup event site. Friday duels all day. Friday night outrance. Saturday 5s pools. Sunday morning 5s finals. Sunday afternoon 12s/30s/scenarios. Sunday late afternoon teardown of lists and pack up
• The July 8th Profights card in Texas has been announced. 
  • D’ondre “Buhurt Obama” Cyrus vs Taylor “Too Jacked” Jones at heavyweight. That should be a banger with Cyrus blade skills and size facing off on the sheer athleticism of the man muscle Taylor. 
  •  As mentioned last week Heath Sutherland vs Charles Harris will also be a fight not to miss. 
  • Charlie Brumfield vs “Houston”  David. Gonna be honest I don’t know much about this fight. Can’t put the name to a helmet for David. Will be excited to be able too after this though.
  •  Arlon “Action” Jackson(yes I know that’s a stupid nickname but I had too. I’m sure he has a better fight name but look I work with what I get) vs Mikey “Galaxy Pants” Johnson
  • Teo Salazar vs Zach “The” Golden “Boy” should also be exciting as the two titan weight men smash each other for your entertainment. 
  •   Last is Tom Tice .. ? vs Alex Shambrook and I unfortunately don’t think I know either fight yet. 
  • This card looks pretty hype and there should be melees between. Also there is a regional practice the next day so if you’re nearby go in person. If not, catch the action on twitch. 
• Speaking of content providers there is a new podcast put out be the Den Of Werewolves vegas crew, Buhurt Butcher. And also the Armored Combat Academy has a free podcast but its exclusively available through the app. So if you’re interested in that give it a download and listen.
